THE child pictured in a man’s arms is NOT Madeleine McCann, police insist.
They do not believe the claim by a friend of the McCanns that she saw the youngster being carried off.
And they have dismissed a sketch, left, of the supposed abduction as “a valueless fantasy” after an independent witness who was there at the same time told police he saw no-one.
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/19315/Maddie-sketch-is-a-lie/
Kate and husband Gerry’s critics suggested the interview they gave to Spanish TV was staged and said Kate, despite her tears, seemed “like a poker player”.
But Mrs Healy, 61, said: “You couldn’t get a more heartfelt interview than that. I’m her mum, I know, and yet people still don’t believe her. Kate and Gerry can’t win either way.

The hotline set up by the McCann – at 83 cents per minute – is a good indication how lost Clarence Mitchell is. I still remember, a few weeks ago, when new witnesses claiming to have seen Madeleine in Morocco were a everyday feature in the British Media. After Portuguese police asked Interpol to help in the investigation of a specific list of those witnesses, they disappeared from the Media - and there were no new sightings.

"I think this has been handled very irresponsibly by a number of people. We don't believe there is any evidence to support any of the deluded headlines, and the police have made that clear.
"It's difficult because a lot of untruths, half truths and blatant lies have been published."
His wife added: "There are times when you just want to shout out, 'That's wrong', because I think we've been done injustice in a lot of ways."

The biggest drawback, though, is that the McCanns have turned to spin and media manipulation at the precise moment these arts are most discredited in politics. What they say in an attempt to keep their child's face in people's minds has the effect of turning a daily spotlight on them. Anecdote and phone-ins suggest these appearances increase the resentment and suspicion they are aiming to defuse. Their tragedy is becoming a public relations disaster.

A source from “Sureté Nacionale”, Moroccan security and intelligence services confirmed that the British citizen offered a large amount of money to several employees, in exchange for specific statements about a sighting concerning a blonde girl. British embassy in Morocco, contacted by SOS Madeleine, refused to comment. The possibility of having private detectives working in their country was referred, by the same source, as “an offence and a violation of national sovereignty”.

[quote]The McCanns' legal moves against Express Newspapers were reported by Private Eye this week, although Mitchell said the magazine's claim that the McCanns were seeking £4m in damages was "wildly speculative".
He added that any damages won would go back into the Find Madeleine fund, which currently stands at £544,000 - nearly half the £1.2m it started with.[unquote]

I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating.
If the McCanns had "nothing" to do with little Madeleine's 'disappearance', they sure had a lot to do with not looking after their child.
I don't know of any parents who would leave a toddler alone in an unsecured flat in a place that they didn't even know. Inviting disaster is one phrase that comes to mind.
So they had to have a party, so they thought Madeleine was fine, unwatched, un-secured, just left there to "sleep" while they had their dinner party. Who on earth would leave a toddler unwatched, whether she was asleep or not??? It's all very well showing those photos of Mother kissing her daughter's favourite toy. Where was she when her daughter met her end? Partying it up. That is, if one believes the story to start with.
Well, I don't need to say much more - look at how it ended.
IMO, at best they're guilty of neglect - at worst... I can't even want to imagine it.

Maybe I don't understand this new concept of a discussion board "under discussion links".
A discussion is a discussion generally based on opinions and sometimes supported by links, but not necessarily generated by them.
Whatever - believe me, I won't interject again. You can discuss it with yourself under discussion links to your heart's content.

Hi Lili,
I know you asked CAT Toy but i noticed you didn't get an answer.
I think CAT TOY was just pointing out that this is a LINKS ONLY thread, (so we can get all the news articles without having to scroll though discussions).
The discussion is at the March thread below. :)

Madeleine is dead and her body was concealed within three quarters of a mile from where she disappeared along the coast. At least one member of the Tapas nine group know where her body is buried..

Jumping on the bandwagon isnt going to make them popular. IMO

‘…They told lawmakers in the European Parliament that the system could be modeled on a similar program in the United States, the so-called "Amber" alert. They noted that the U.S. program helped recover 68 kidnapped children in 2007 -- and several hundred over the past five years…’

I didn’t know it had been reported by the Daily Mail that Kate McCann had refused to take a polygraph after she was made an official suspect because the results would not be admissible as evidence to a Portuguese court.

A good idea, but promoted by someone still under suspicion in the disappearance of their own child.

Disappointing end to Madeleine case
By Alison Roberts
BBC News
The announcement that Portuguese prosecutors have shelved the investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance will be a bitter disappointment to those who believe that, with more work, she might yet be found. ...

Is this the best way to help Maddie?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1038719/Platells-People-Is-best-way-help-Maddie.html
Interesting article. There appears to be getting a bigger and bigger backlash against the McCanns here. There was a article on Sky yesterday and comments were actually allowed for once and only ONE was in favour of the McCanns. MOO

It's been a while since I've read the Anorak but found this -
http://www.anorak.co.uk/tabloids/186558.html
excert from one of the papers about the door to door search for Madeleine. If it's true, not good news.
Also more about the Shannon Matthews case.
So parents are involved in abductions and they do it for the money and attention. Nasty thought.
Very touching. One of my favourite songs in the video. Needless to say, tears for another beautiful little girl.
Always remembered Madeleine. I'll never forget you. :rose:
LONDON: The parents of missing British girl Madeleine McCann have released a new video appealing for information about her.
Kate and Gerry McCann posted the video Sunday on the Web site http://www.findmadeleine.com that they set up after their daughter disappeared during a family holiday in Portugal.
The video shows footage of Madeleine singing and playing at the family home and closes with the words: "This will be our second Christmas without our daughter, Please help us make sure we don't have a third."
Madeleine McCann attracted international media attention when she disappeared in May 2007, a few days short of her 4th birthday.
http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/12/21/europe/EU-Britain-Missing-Girl.php
It is the first time a recording of Madeleine speaking has been made public.
