I am so happy the article finally came out and that Sheriff Craig was so open. I live in Seminole and so many of us here have been consumed by this. Many neighbors and friends assisted in the search for poor Colt and are still haunted by this.
Because of the business I work at, I have been in contact with the Clarks. Most everything that has been reported about them on blogs and here is true. If they are innocent, why will they not talk to the press?? I know that a few agencies have tried to speak to them but they refuse the offers. Sorry, but it does not look very good for their case.
Thanks for the insider's perspective kkd. Can you imagine how frustrated the Sheriff and his staff must be? Gosh, they are probably as close to 100% positive that the Clarks harmed Colt and there is nothing they can do about it right now. I know I'd want to beat the crap out of them.. in fact, if I could get hold of them, I'd likely do it myself.
Sheriff Craig is known as a fair and honest man here. Though I do not know him personally, I can imagine what this case has done to him and his staff. I know they are working so hard on this even though we don't hear much about it. Like in most cases, I'm sure LE has some information about this case that they cannot release to the public.

Hi KKD and welcome! You bet they have info and that cant release it! As for Joe Craig, I dont know him personally either but that man tells it like it is. He is ok in my book.

Thinking of Colton, and his brother Austin (Homer) during the holidays. I do hope new information comes to light soon regarding the disappearance of Colton, and I do wonder and care about Austin during this time. He is currently in the custody of DHS and not surrounded by his brother, and friends or family. Must be very hard for him at 12.
What a hard life they have been delt.
:rose: For Justice and finding Colton
:rose: For Austin during this hard time
I have faith that things will change for them both and the truth will come out and they will both know they are loved by people they dont even know.

Beautiful indeed.
I can only pray that Austin is in a better home now, even if placed through DHS. I also pray that whoever has custody of this child, makes his Christmas as joyful as possible.
For Colton :rose:
For Austin :rose:
And for Kindralore for caring so much for these boys. :wreath:
These boys remain in my prayers not only through the Christmas season, but throughout the year. Maybe the new year will bring justice.
I'm firmly believe the truth will come out.
I thought a lot about Colt and Homer/Austin this past holiday season. There was a small mention of them in the Seminole Producer's Year in Review article, along with a picture of Sheriff Craig during the search for Colt. It makes me so sad, yet angry, that Colt's name is not being put out more in the media. Perhaps it is because of the Clark's refusal to be interviewed. I keep telling myself that silence on the end of LE could be a good thing....like the calm before the storm.
We are experiencing a winter ice storm here and I wondered about Colton, hoping that if he is alive that he is warm and protected from the cold. In an interview Mark Klaas gave this weekend about finding the two missing boys in Missouri, he said to never give up hope. Sometimes that might be easier said than done. I pray that LE finds something soon that will put this mystery to rest.

Has anyone heard of an arrest being made for the murder of missing 9 yo Oklahoma Seminole County boy Colton Levi Clark?
I had an anonymous commenter on my blog that left a comment stating an arrest had been made for the murder of Colton Clark. I searched the news and the net but have not found anything this morning.

I too had an anonymous post on my blog saying there was an arrest. I looked on my stat counter which is invisible and that person had googled "Rebecca Clark arrested Seminole, OK".
Here is what they wrote on my blog:

Since we don't have official confirmation yet, I won't start jumping for joy, but should this be true I am not at all surprised by this development and I'm sure many others aren't either.
After reading of the arrest I went back on this thread and read the posts by the person claiming to be Becky Clark. In view of her arrest, they are even more pathetic than they were when first posted. If it wasn't such a sad situation, much of the stuff she wrote would make me laugh.
I hope this is all true, hope they have ample evidence to fry her and finally get justice for Colton.
Crazyhorse and Kindralore, thanks for staying on top of this for us.

I noticed this thread on the weekend board today. It wasn't there last night I don't think. I also read that big long post by the mother? and then couldn't believe reading the update today. Never mind warning children about strangers, start warning them about their own d*** parents!

After further research, I believe this info to be false at this time. KOCO channel 5 in Oklahoma City was called and there was no such story reported. I also contacted both city and county jail and Rebecca Clark is not at either.
Until we get verified information, I will state that the posts on my blog as well as crazyhorse's, as well as the person that emailed me stating to be a family member, are false.
Sorry for the confusion. I will update if I have any new info.

Actually I think it was just a misunderstanding, or at least part of it was. The person who emailed me and stated it was broadcast on Channel 5 emailed me back today and apologized profusely. She stated that a friend still living in Seminole told her this so she took it for the truth.
She denies posting the anonymous posts on mine and Crazyhorses blog, so who knows, maybe that was her friend or someone else. As far who started the whole thing (the anonymous poster) I cant fathom WHY they would do such a thing other than to stir the pot. It worked I guess.

There have been no updates on Colton. The case has gone cold. April 20th will be the one year anniversary that Colton was reported missing.
His brother Homer (Austin) is now living elsewhere (the Clarks have given up custody of him) and he is reported doing much better.
I still hope every day the light will shine on the truth as to what happened to Colton and where he is. He would be turning 11 soon. (May 24th)
Hopes and prayers in finding the answers.

A year later, Colt's searchers stumped
By Kim Morava
Staff Writer
It's been one year since little Colton Levi Clark, age 9, disappeared from the Seminole County home of his aunt and uncle. After months of searching and investigating all leads, the case has gone cold.
Colton, who liked to go by the nickname "Colt," disappeared about 1:30 p.m. April 20, 2006. At the time, authorities believed he was a runaway because his backpack, some clothes and food were missing. The case didn't meet the criteria for an Amber Alert; deputies couldn't determine if he had been abducted.
Seminole County Undersheriff Charlie Miller, who's been investigating the case, said they've had no new leads for months.
"We have nothing to go on. We'd like to find the little feller," he said.
With no concrete information and cold leads, there's been little to go on for further investigation, although Miller said psychics continue to call.
"Everything that comes in we follow and so far, nothing," he said.
Back in October, Seminole County Sheriff Joe Craig told the media he feared the worst about Colt's fate.
"I've got a gut feeling that something bad has happened to this boy," Craig said. "We've run out all leads given to us and nothing has panned out."
Back then, Craig said Colt's disappearance is "quite a mystery," but he also believed there's a chance Colt left by choice.
"From experience, I don't believe he was abducted," Craig said, adding the child could have had help in running away.
Teams of dogs and were used in searches for Colt, but were unable to pick up the boy's scent.
At the time of his disappearance, Colt was 4 feet, 4 inches, tall, weighed 65 pounds and had short brown hair, hazel eyes and wore silver-framed glasses. He was wearing a sky-blue shirt, Wrangler jeans and blue and white tennis shoes. He has a scar above his left eyebrow.
Miller said they've circulated countless fliers and Colt is listed with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as lost, injured, missing.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, 405-257-5445.

I hope this little guy is never forgotten, and that the truth -- whatever it is -- comes out and justice is served.
I worry about Homer, too, and what he's carrying inside.
I'm just glad Homer's away from that family. I hope he's getting the care and love all children deserve.

Perhaps if you post his picture on every local message board. (and maybe even the message board owner to have a pic of him up) that might help. I assume you have put up flyers already...if his family isn't doing it who else is there?
This reminds me of a year ago when I reported a screaming kid being pulled down the street by a suspicious looking guy.(I''m in Portland Maine) I first told the officers the wrong street, and had to call them back. I wish I hadn't taken so long to find a phone.
I didn't see anything in the paper the next day so either it was nothing or they didn't find them. I kick myself every day thinking about it.

There are threads for Colton on the Trucking Boards, Crime and Justice, Websleuths and From Whispers to Roars and Operation Cypertip. When the html allows for pics, there is a pic of him. When it doesnt there is a link to a pic.
He is also on the Missing and Murdered Childrens Blog, Ramblings from the Reservation, Colton Levi Clark blog, The Charley Project, and various other websites.
He is in Wikepiedia and has two storys in the Crime Library at Court TV, and there is a myspace page dedicated to him.

Good job:) But I know you were posting all over the internet from researching your links on this case.
I was thinking local message boards, bulletin boards, flyering and whatnot, not necessarily on the computer-do you know if that is happening?- without the family doing those things it leaves a vacumn.
Just trying to post something to bump up this tread really;)

haha. Yes I have posted all over the internet. As far as local message boards, Colton comes from a very small town, Wewoka, with the county being Seminole. There isnt really a local board besides articles on Topix for that area, which I have posted there as well..lol.
The community of Seminole have put flyers everywhere. They are still in all the local businesses around town, and there is even a bench outside a Walmart with his missing poster on it.
I am not local, I am actually from GA, so no, I haven't done any of that. However, the locals still have Colt in their hearts and are still hoping for his safe return. (This is from the locals I have spoken with).
And thanks for the bump Gorbal. :)
As KL has mentioned, he is still very much in the hearts of people here in Seminole. It is still hard to believe that something like this could happen in our small community. We still have two flyers up at our place of business. My boss mentioned something about taking them down but I begged him not to do it. Becky and Rex took down their signs at their house and I refuse to give up hope to at least find out the truth.
One of my co-workers saw Becky in a local grocery store a couple of weeks ago. She said Becky has aged but is still running her mouth to anyone that will listen. I know I haven't seen her in months.
The Seminole Producer did run an article about Colt. In it, I did read about the rumors about Colt being found in a Dumpster and in a bag in a local lake. Both have proven untrue.
A friend of mine who used to work at the hospital told me a few weeks ago that she was on duty when Homer was brought in after he ran away. He was being treated for a dog bite. A child advocate was with him and he seemed glad that she was there. My firend wanted to ask him about Colt in the worst way but of course she didn't. I hope and pray that if he does know something that he will someday speak out.

IMO that is what I think happened period. I don’t know what possessed Becky to leave him there that day because she had made sure they (the boys) stayed in their presence at all times. They were withdrawn from school, had very little action outside of her sight.
This was his chance.
BTW, he stole a gun and a cell phone. Protection and communication. That is my take.

Hi Happy. Glad you decided to read the thread. Although its very long now, it has been a bumpy ride hasnt it? Especially when Becky came on here. The thread was locked for awhile soon after that.

It's hard to believe a boy could run away at the tender age of nine, but the more I read about the family I pray he did. I keep reading the accounts of people who ran away as children at younger and younger ages and I think of Colton often when I read them.

There is an update on this case.
You can read the article the Clark's neighbor wrote into the Seminole Producer
here (http://coltonleviclark.wordpress.com/2008/03/10/neighbor-speaks-out-about-the-disappearance-of-colton-levi-clark/) and then about the charges filed here (http://coltonleviclark.wordpress.com/2008/03/22/charges-filed-against-rex-james-clark-in-gun-pointing-incident/) .
Next month will be the 2 year anniversary that Colton Clark was reported missing.
Just keeping the case alive.

:rose: For little Colt...
I don't think you have to live in fear of your so called "daddy" again.
Justice will be served. Lead the way Colton. These people make me so mad I could scream. They should start hanging out with Jaliek's so called parents. These people should never be around children again.

What the hell is wrong with the local LE in that town?? Is it not obvious that Colton's dad thinks he can do anything he wants in that town with no repercussions?
If someone shot at me, in MY OWN YARD, you bet they would be sitting in the local jail....Not acting out the deed for the local newspaper.
Poor Colton, I think we all know what happened to you..MOO...we just need proof.

I am wondering if Colt told his "dad" he had told the neighbor about the dad being mad, if he thought the neighbor was going to do it anyway; and maybe he wouldn't get into so much trouble if he told his "dad" first. And that did get him in trouble :(

You may be exactly right.
And I agree about shooting at someone. Gee - let me try that here in my town. Brandishing a weapon is the first charge that would be filed against me...among many others.
COME ON LE. YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. HOW ABOUT PUTTING SOME PRESSURE ON THE PARENTS AND MAKE THEM CRACK?
How can you just forget about this little boy??

At least we haven't forgotten, and you are so right about LE. I hate criticizing LE, I know they work very hard, long hours, with lots of difficult cases, but this case seems to be mishandled from the start.

I wonder if Austin has been interviewed again. I'm sure if he has a decent foster home and it is explained to him clearly that Rebecca and Rex have relinquished their parental rights, that he may talk now. I really believe that once he feels that there is no way they can harm him, he'll have information to offer about what happened to Colton.
